A remarkably well preserved doll dating from the beginning of the twentieth century. This doll has fully articulated limbs - knees, hips, elbows, shoulders, waist, wrists and neck; its eyes close when laid down. The hand painted composite face and human hair make for a very realistic appearance.

The Thunder Bay Museum's doll collection numbers about 60 items and ranges from a complete Japanese boy's doll fesitval dating from the 1930s, and brought to Thunder Bay by Japanese immigrants, to a 1970s Ken and Barbie. A variety of ethnic dolls, early rag dolls, and examples from virtually every decade since 1880 complete the collection.

A related collection includes several delightful marionettes produced in Thunder Bay by a group of talented artists and performers in the 1940s and 1950s.
