Art brings history to life — sparking emotion, interpretation, and connection. At the Thunder Bay Museum, we are eager to collaborate with local artists, cultural practitioners, and community groups to bring more creative expression into our galleries, outdoor spaces, and public programming.
We are especially interested in projects that:
- Highlight regional stories, identities, or environments
- Reflect Indigenous perspectives, land-based knowledge, and truth and reconciliation
- Are accessible and inclusive to diverse audiences
- Foster community participation, especially among youth and underrepresented groups
Examples of potential projects:
- Mural installations (indoor or outdoor)
- Temporary or pop-up exhibits in our foyer or theatre space
- Workshops or artist residencies connected to heritage themes
- Collaborative art pieces for community events or commemorations
- Exhibition partnerships with artists exploring local history, memory, or identity
